Get Started with LinkForge
Click analytics and A/B tests for growth
Setup Steps
Register Your Account
Create a workspace under a unique name like "Vertex Media Group". Verify your primary email, enable two-factor authentication via TOTP, and invite up to three team members using their work addresses. Your admin dashboard will be ready within 60 seconds.
Create Your First Short Link
Paste your destination URL into the generator, choose a custom alias such as `forge.io/q4-launch`, and toggle UTM auto-tagging. Set the redirect to 302 for testing campaigns, then preview the live endpoint before publishing.
Connect a Custom Domain
Navigate to Domain Settings and add a TXT record (`v=spf1 include:_spf.linkforge.io ~all`) for verification. Create a CNAME pointing `go.yourbrand.com` to `dns.linkforge.io`. SSL certificates auto-provision within 15 minutes via Let's Encrypt.
Configure Basic Profile Settings
Set your workspace timezone to match your analytics reports, define default link expiration policies, and assign role permissions. Enable "Click Heatmaps" and "Device Breakdown" in the tracking module to start collecting granular engagement data immediately.
Optimization Tips
Standardize Alias Conventions
Adopt a pattern like `brand-campaign-channel-date` (e.g., `vertex-blackfriday-email-1124`). This keeps your link database sortable and makes quarterly audits take under ten minutes instead of hours.
Run A/B Variants Before Scaling
Split traffic evenly between two destination URLs using the "Multi-Destination" toggle. After 500 clicks, review the conversion lift and pause the underperforming variant to conserve budget.
Enable Password Protection for Sensitive Assets
For internal whitepapers or client decks, activate the "Require Password" setting. Share the credential via a separate channel to prevent unauthorized downloads while maintaining clean referral tracking.
